Our Mission

"The mission of the High Desert Mountain Water Association is to provide a venue for those involved in the waterworks industry located in the greater Victor Valley and Mountain communities.

 

The Association's goal is to educate its members on local, state and federal issues and regulations, and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, education, and mutual support of its membership."

April 2026. As spring settles across the High Desert, bringing longer days and a welcome change in season, we are pleased to invite you to our April Dinner Meeting. This time of year, reminds us of renewal not only in our landscape, but also in our continued commitment to strengthening our water systems, expanding our knowledge, and supporting one another as professionals in this vital field. Our Association remains dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for training, collaboration, and connection. Whether you are a long-time member or joining us for the first time, we are glad to have you as part of this community. Each meeting is an opportunity to share insights, learn from industry experts, and reinforce the partnerships that help keep our water systems reliable and resilient.A great way to kick off the 2026 season, with an informative class led by Bella from North Bay Waterworks on Bolted Sleeve and Sleeve-Type Connections, followed by a presentation from PPHCSD on the Christmas Storm 2025: Operations, Impacts, and Lessons Learned. We look forward to continuing the momentum at our April dinner meeting presentations. Here is what we have planned:

History of the RegionWe’re pleased to welcome local historian Gary “Old Town Griz” Drylie back as our guest speaker. Griz is the author of Hesperia, Images of America (2010) and created a series of landmark stops throughout Hesperia highlighting the area’s history dating back to the late 1700s. He’ll share stories and insights into the rich history of our region.

Enjoy a hosted dinner while connecting with fellow water professionals, engineers, operators, managers, and industry partners from across the High Desert. 2026 Membership

Membership dues are $35. Members receive discounted pricing for all hosted classes and dinner meetings. Membership forms are available on our website. While membership offers great benefits, membership is not required to attend all classes or dinner meetings, everyone is welcome. Get Involved? Interested in presenting, instructing a CEU class or bringing a first-time attendee? Opportunities are available and include recognition during meetings and in HDMWA communications.
