HIGH DESERT MOUNTAIN WATER ASSOCIATION
June 2026 Dinner Meeting Newsletter
Summer is around the corner and again the High Desert will feel the hot temperatures and find an increase in demand to our water systems. This season reminds us of the critical role water professionals play in maintaining reliable service, protecting public health, and preparing our systems to meet the challenges of peak demand.
Our April dinner meeting was another success with the program and attendance! Many appreciations go out to our class instructor, Jun Li, of MOBILTEX, and to our guest speaker, local historian Gary “Old Town Griz” Drylie. We would also like to extend our appreciation to all our vendors for their continued support of the association.
Bittersweet note, we learned of the retirement of Karin Tuerffs of GSM. Karin has been a tremendous supporter of our association over the years and was always willing to step forward and provide educational classes for our members. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to the water industry have been greatly appreciated.Karin, you will be missed, and we wish you all the best in your retirement. Thank you for everything you have done for our association and its members.
We are pleased to invite you to our June Dinner Meeting. We are excited to offer another evening of practical training and technical insight.
Our June program features a CEU class presented by Mueller Company focusing on Dry Barrel Hydrant, followed by a presentation from Carollo Engineers - From Reactive to Proactive, How Hydraulic Modeling Improves Operations, Master Planning, and Capital Investment Decisions.
Our Association remains dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for training, collaboration, and connection. Whether you are a long-time member or joining us for the first time, we are glad to have you as part of this community. Each meeting is an opportunity to share insights, learn from industry experts, and reinforce the partnerships that help keep our water systems reliable and resilient.
